Dr. Francisco Gomez is an experienced, results-driven orthopedic surgeon capable of addressing even the most complex cases.
Dr. Gomez strongly believes in something told to him by a mentor: “there is no bad surgery, only bad decision-making.” These words of wisdom resonated with Dr. Gomez and he has since been successful in thinking quickly and carefully on his feet allowing him to creatively attack the source of his patient’s pain.
He got his start as an undergrad at John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio, where he received his bachelor’s. He attended medical school at the University of Salamanca in Spain, and went on to intern in general surgery at Medstar Franklin Square Hospital. Having this foundation and understanding of general surgery and medicine would later prove critical to his success and skill as an orthopedic surgeon. He then performed his residency at the Medical College of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Gomez was drawn to Orthopedics because he enjoyed the satisfaction of being able to instantly have an effect on his patient’s lives.
The services that he performs for patients include arthroscopic surgery, rehabilitation, therapeutic injections and more. Dr. Gomez recognizes that each patient is a unique individual requiring a personalized approach to their care.
Dr. Gomez was in private practice for 24 years, and plans to carry that caring, patient-focused approach to every patient he sees.
He has been practicing medicine for over 30 years now, and believes the key to his success is the fact that he is a symptoms-driven orthopedic surgeon instead of diagnostic-driven. He takes the time to not only listen to his patients, but do the research and testing to truly find out what’s going on with them beneath the surface, beyond just what they’re experiencing.
